how do i add my apps to my taskbar?

drag them in or if you still want them on your desktop, hold CTL while
dragging

Do you mean your QuickLaunch bar (which is part of the taskbar)? Just
drag an existing shortcut onto it.

If you mean icons to start your apps, you can't.
Perhaps you meant to ask how to put shortcut icons on the Quick Launch Bar.
Although the Quick Launch Bar appears by default *on* the task bar, it is
not the Task Bar itself, and can even be dragged off the Task Bar and moved
elsewhere.
To put a desktop icon on the Quick Launch Bar, simply drag it there.
