In WinXP SP2 inc all updates, after arranging my desktop icons by name, my
first column reads like:
My Documents
My Computer
Recycle Bin
Chainz 2 Relinked (game shortcut). 'Relinked' is part of the game name.
Word Slinger (game shortcut)
Uncorrected (folder containing invalid shortcuts)
5star Free Lines (game shortcut)
Age of Castles (game shortcut)
Lots of other icons in alphabetical order.

The first 3 system icons are where they should be.
For what reasons could the next 2 entries not be in name order with the rest
of the icons?

Look in windows explorer and you will find that some of yor icons are in the
all users desktop and some are in your personal desktop. Drag all of the
icons into one of the desk tops making sure that you delete the icons in the
other desk top.

Suggest that you use the desk top for all users as the main depository of
all the icons.
