XP SP2

The Autoexec.bat file is not being processed when starting up.
I remember turning it off somewhere. I thought it was in TweakUI,
but under logon I've got it ticked to parse the file.

Where else would I have been stupid enough to disable this?

Failing that is there another way to auto start a program?
It's Sysinternals excellent Process Monitor.
I would like it to start as early in the logon as possible as
I'm trying to find out what's causing my PC to logon on so slowly.

Any help for the above would be appreciated.

Autoexec.bat is a legacy tool. It is not used under WinXP. There
are a number of alternatives which are far more powerful. You
could, for example, place your own batch file or perhaps a shortcut
file into the Startup folder of your profile directory. If unsure where
this is, click Start / Run / cmd {OK} and type this command:

echo %UserProfile% {Enter}

I don't think Process Monitor will be of much help to diagnose slow logons.

You'd probably be better off trying something like Microsoft's BootVis.
Note, however, that MS doesn't offer it for download anymore.

OTOH Google can probably find it for you.
