AUTOPLAY no longer works. Please help...

How do I get AUTOPLAY reactivated? I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the
CD/DVD-burners via the System Control Panel, Device, Hardware Profiles, but
to no avail. It seems like this feature works for a while, then stops after a
time. Is something corrupted? Please help…AKS

Try this: Right click the drive in Explorer and choose Properties. This
will lead you to an Autoplay or Events tab where you can reestablish
which program should do what when you plug in.

If that doesn't fix it, there is a fix on MS's website. Search for the
Autoplay Repair Wizard. Be forewarned that the download page asks you to
validate your copy of Windows before downloading the wizard (how
annoying!). You can, perversely enough, opt out of validation and still
download the fix.

enable CDROM Autorun

* Start > Run > type regedit, OK

* navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > System > CurrentControlSet

* Services > Cdrom > double-click 'autorun' & Set value to 1

ps-to disable, change back to 0
