BackUp Question
Posted by TJ on April 20th, 2006

I use the Windows BackUp software on my Win2K Laptop and external USES2.0
drive to back both my Laptop and Desktop. Since I installed XP on my
Desktop, I can backup bust CANNOT restore to my XP Desktop. It says I
don't have the permissions. I have both drives Shared and they can both
see each other and share files, so I am stumped. It must be a Security
setting on my Desktop but don't know where it is.

Any suggestions?

TIA!

When you restore the file(s), after you click the "Start Restore" button go
into the advance settings and uncheck "Restore security".

That usually means you are not logged in as administrator.
