Windows XP is not based on MS-DOS, therefore there is no
MS-DOS to boot into.

There is no DOS in Windows XP. All that you have is a command line
interpreter (CMD) which allows a subset of DOS commands to be used in XP.
CMD more than likely does not allow changing the contents of a register.

Afflicted I badly expressed myself! I leave with the CDROM Windows XP Pro and
I chose the option R to repair my Windows.... I must go to add the Shell
value and userinit in the base of register to be able to open my session....
Thank you
