- batch file renamer
- Posted by luminore on March 9th, 2006
Could someone recommend convenient file renamer, for batch files(mp3 mostly)
or folders renaming ?
Windows has not set up an easy way to do so. Just to rename many files or
folders based on many options of criteria for renaming.
(i.e. by Replacing exact text, Inserting text at a particular position,
Trimming characters off of filenames, Changing the casing of filenames,
Truncating filenames down to a certain number of characters, Auto-Numbering
in a certain position and starting at a number of my choice, Adding or
removing file extensions, etc)
Just single executable that do not required installation and do not write
data into registry.

Some freeware utilities that are able to do bulk renaming (will use an
installer and write things to registry though):

1-4a Rename (from the screen shoots it looks like this ones can take
sub-folders as well):

You will find a lot of utils for this here as well:

Thanks a lot. Does renaming files do not change file structure any way?

It changes the name only.

No, it will not change anything in each individual file's
structure.
