- Bios Sound
- Posted by John on March 29th, 2006
Hi group,
Just upgraded my machine with new motherboard and video card and it all
works great.
BUT, so now and then, and at any time it will make a sound like the Bios
startup beep.
I assume its the bios as the beep is the same as when windows first starts
up. Everything runs normal.
My machine is Pentium 4, 2.4Ghz 512megs of ram. XP Home.
Any ideas,
With thanks
Aussie John

Hi,
Can't find anything specific, but this is what I'd check:
- reseat the ram (first guess)
- reseat the cpu
- check proper operation of cpu fan (overheating)

Could be a heat warning. Check the temp settings in the bios. Perhaps
they are set too low for the CPU
you are running.
