Oh on a roll tonight. It started with my first post, continued with my
second, and here goes all.

May I preface this by saying, that in the opinon of the MVP's, and anyone
else I am even reasonable justify.''MY biggest complaint are remenisinct of
the 98 gen_disc. days. Many, many helpers would go out of their way to help
individuals step-by-step, until the was problem
was solved.

Perhaps it is the upswing of technology, and time no longer warrants such
detailed replies, but more and more are getting shuffler off to some
website..How many of "You", the consumer have ever tried to decipher an KB
article--good luck. Of course there are some of you who can, and I'm
"beginning too", but nothing beats someone holding your hand while you try
something never been done before.

Please bear in mind that there many of you MVP's{and AumHa forrum members
that I will probably emulate--but it's not for lack of trying. There are
those who have little times for forums, that are equally "genius" in their
own right. Please continue to give the little guy some help. This is
predominately where the "little guys" hang out--not in the forum of may I
say "primarily genius" (my words')

Thank you for listening to my rantings and revings, I "respect" each and
everyone of you the best. Some of the "novice" questions indeed cause me
the most ponder.

If MS doesn't ban me. I'll be back tomorrow. It's each and everyone one of
you that keeps this "very"old machine not only running. but Win XP ProSP2
Thaank Bill and PA!

God,
I wish I could blame this on beer or pain-killer, als, no such excude--I'll
calm down!

With all do repect,

With the number of users of these newsgroups these days and the much greater
detail in documentation now available with just a link, there simply isn't
the time nor need to write out responses in a post when a link does the job
better. Keep in mind, those who come here to help others are all
volunteers.

Tom, Haven't drink or done pain-killers in two years. The mis-spelling is
due to some neurological damage, for which I'm still looking for a
cure--Even ranting for tonight. I appreciate *all of you! Tom, a logical
conclusion to my tiatribe!

Hi Colin,

I was in no way disparaging any one goup.and.or individual. I "attempt to
be "one of the volunters " of which you speak.--And it CAN be exasperating
at times.

I will also agree it is "much easier* to shuffle someone who site has

I can see it both ways...callme a troactive, and simple lond\g for the "good
ol' days.

Now, Ms hasn't banned me yet. lets see what AumHa thinks ;-))

Give me a break. Helping is helping Curt. Many websites offer excellent
assistance. It is easier and often a more efficient use of time to point a
person to a site that has the information they crave than spend a half hour
on typing answers to a question. In pointing people to sites it also helps
them to realize that they can search for answers. While it may be true that
some people need hand holding many are able to walk well on their own once
pointed in a specific direction.

Please stop masturbating in public.

Your posts will garner you no points towards acquiring the MVP title.
Number of posts is not the only measure of how you become nominated.
If anyone nominates you, we will SHOOT HIM.

Oh joy, more drivel.

Valium still works as does lithium.

Another neophyte that thinks he needs to duplicate his moniker in his
post or signature.

Oh goody, another Usenet neophyte using a superfluous signature of
URLs that aren't his own and violating the 4-line signature de facto
standard.

The date and time was 1/18/2008 10:57 AM, and on a whim, VanguardLH
pounded out on the keyboard:

Complaining about those while you're using OE as a newsreader that
ignores the "de facto standard" delimiter? A proper newsreader would
have removed his sig completely below the delimiter and the sig lines
would have been gone. One is okay I guess, but not another?

The topic of 'hand holding' has been answered by me before some weeks ago.
While I agree it would be nice to type out a step by step answer we (not
just MVPs but also other contributors) do not possess a crystal ball. It is
impossible to tell, in many cases, whether a poster is a beginner or a
'genius' as you put it. Because these newsgroups go worldwide there is
sometimes a language barrier. A person, for example, in India or the Far
East may be extremely clever but his/her English maybe poor. Because the
posters English is poor are we to jump to the conclusion that the poster is
a beginner and thus start an extended reply with 1: Click the Start button;
2: Click All Programs etc, etc.

This hand holding is no problem to me but, as I've pointed out above, if the
poster isn't a beginner you often get the 'do you think I'm an idiot' reply
back from your reply post. And all this simply because you 'supposed' the
poster was a beginner and needed his/her hand holding.

There is no shame in saying you are a beginner, we all were at some stage.
Personally I would rather a person state in his/her post that 'I am a
beginner' or 'I'm not computer literate' or words to that effect to enable
the person(so) who reply to gauge what sort of response to give.

As Colin has pointed out we are all volunteers, even the MVPs. Wherever
possible I will attempt to give step by step instructions; however, as I run
two separate websites for XP and Vista, in many cases it is easier for me to
simply direct the poster to one of my websites for a more detailed solution
to their problem. I also attempt, wherever possible to translate any
solutions that are based on knowledgebase articles into plain English.

Dry up, and look up the definition of masturbation. I have *NO* aspirations
of becoming an MVP by my own devious devices.

You give out excellent information, but oftem with a hint of sarcasm
or --you are helping very few. Unforntunately, you were born with a cynical
spoon in your mouth.

Most other posters had very legimate criticisms, and reminded me the "flip
side of the coin".

You didn't
