- blank screen

pls can someone help me. i have a COMPAQ laptop of 2002 version. the screen
suddenly became very faint that one cannot see what is written but if
connected to another monitor you can see and work well. the problem is the
laptop screen i should say is blank and cannot be used.

Seems to be a LCD Panel problem.Contact the dealer.

the laptop is about 3yrs old and i bought it in the USA while i live in
Nigeria. i really don't know how to contact them. please is there nothing
else that i can do?.

Try to contact HP Dealers in Nigeria,they will replace the LCD Panel.

The light bulb is burned out in your laptop's tft panel. Get it replaced.

Try the "screen brightness" fn keys. If that does not work the screen
backlight may have failed.
