- Bootable USB drive holding files for WIN Install and FDISK and FORMAT
- Posted by jm7 on January 24th, 2008
I am trying to create a WINBoot USB drive containing the i386 folder from
the XP pro CD and files to FDISK and Format.
I have used Physdiskwrite and a WINBOOT image (*.IMA) but these emulate
floppies so I can't place files that take up more than 512Mb or a 1gb size.
Is there a .IMA file (bootable) that is bigger than a floppy?

need a boot floppy or image that contains the necessary config.sys and
mscdex files. Most mastering software will create bootable media. The
floppy image will be a: and other files will be accessed thru' the drive
letter assigned to the cd/dvd reader.

This one's a lot easier. Just boot from a Windows 98 EBD, and format
/s the USB flash drive.
