I used to type the address in the address bar and it'll take me there. For
instance, i'll just type "google.com" in the address bar and it'll just go.
Now, I have to type "http://www.google.com" just to go there. Basically, I
used to not have to type "http://www...." in the adddress bar. All of a
sudden I have to. Please help! Thanks!

Use this registry fix:

http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/RepairDefaultPrefix.reg

After downloading, right-click and merge.

Then, spend some time reading...

Use Firefox and you will only have to type "Google" and then hit enter.

There is also another nifty shortcut in most browsers, just type google into
the address bar then press CTRL-Enter and it will do the http://www. and the
..com even less typing!

Not the point since around IE3 it has done it all for you as long as you
press ctrl-enter.

The problem (s)he is having is actually with DNS and not with IE.
