windows xp. I burned a software cd and it works find. I installed it and
everything the cd has to be in in order to use the software. The problem is I
burned the cd and if I dont have the original cd in it will say please put in
the original cd and the software will not work unless i put in the original
cd. So when i click on the icon to open up the software thats what it says
please put in the original cd so i do and it works, but why when i put in the
burned cd it does not work and gives me that message.?

The original CD likely has some sort of copy protection. Even though you
have a copy that works, it may not be totally identical to the original.
The running software detects this and asks for the original.
Since there are many was to sense this difference, it's a bit hard to give
you a quick answer that would solve the problem.

I did a cd copy. not file or folder copy. and if i have to have to original
cd to make the software run i mize well not even have a copy but i want a
copy. I like to make copies of all my cd's just incase something happens
