Buying 64bit laptop

I am wondering about buying a 64-bit laptop. Are there technical details
about buying 64 bit? Do you have to get certain software or is all software
compatible. As well... I live in Canada. Can anyone recommend a good store
(would have to be a chain or something available 1 hour south of Toronto)
that I can buy a computer from? I go to Future shop and all I see is
computers that come with all of these different programs like Microsoft Works
and Microsoft Office Student edition. I can only imagine how much all of
htese programs are boosting the cost up. I just want the computer and MAYBE
the O/S on it. I can do the rest with programs I have.

If you don't get the 64bit OS you should be just fine.
