C:documents and settings is not accessible
Posted by timig78@hotmail.com on March 23rd, 2006

Hi

I am having a nightmare with Windows XP Professional (SP2). When
logging onto my home pc as normal it said:

Windows cannot create a temporary profile directory. This may be caused
by insufficient security rights. If this problem persists, contact your
network administrator.

DETAIL - Not enough storage is available to process this command.

This then timed out after 30 seconds and then this appeared:

Windows cannot load the user's profile but has logged you on with the
default profile for the system.

DETAIL - Not enough storage is available to process this command.

When the pc starts it looks as though my profile is corrupt as all my
settings are gone, but more importantly i cant access any of my
documents! I have lots of important stuff on there, soem of which
wasnt backed up, some was, so i am really hoping that this can be
solved!

When i click on My documents, the explorer window is empty and if i
move up a level it comes up with the following:
C:\documents and settings\user\desktop is not accessible
Not enough storage is available to process this command

I have 96Gb free on this pc, so i am sure that isnt a problem.

Please can someone help?!
Thanks
