Cable internet slower than 56k
Posted by alessandro.mangio@gmail.com on October 20th, 2005

A couple of days ago my cable internet has been so slow. Its been going

slower than a 56k. I called the cable company and the technician said
all the wires are fine and he doesnt know whats wrong. He said maybe
that since I download alot I have a slower broadband connection.

Can someone please help me. I cant stand waiting 5minutes for a webpage

to load.

I also tried installing my ethernet drivers again. Nothing changed.
Btw, I do not have any spyware or viruses so that cannot be the cause.

"Cannot be the cause"? Guess again! Check your connections, but having
read your post, the first thing that came to my mind is that the Cable modem
you have is faulty. Take it back for another one and see if the problem
persists.

Are you sure that you do not have "spywares"? Spywares are not normally
detected with anti-virus utilties (so far???)!

Did you ask the tech if your connection was throtled back because you
download a lot? Do you download a lot?

Try downloading a speedtest from your ISP. If you have a router check
what bandwidth the router thinks you're using.
