- Calculator Tool
- Posted by bratpak3 on January 11th, 2006
Does anyone know if the Calculator tool is still a part of Windows? On my
home computer I can click the Start button, go to Accessories, and click on
Calculator to use the 10-key portion of my keyboard as a calculator on my
computer screen. But I can't seem to find it on my work computer! Anybody
know where it's hidden?? Thanks :-)

Hello,
At Start/Run, type 'calc.exe'. Alternatively you can create a shortcut to
'C:\windows\system32\calc.exe' and put the shortcut anywhere you wish.

Thank you. I tried what you suggested, but it says this file can't be found.
I opened Windows Explorer and looked in the Windows\System32 folder, and the
calc.exe file isn't listed (even though hidden files are displayed). Can I
install it from my WinXP disk or from the microsoft website? Thanks again.

There may be a reason that the IT department removed it from the
system, but if it's OK with them, Microsoft has a new and improved
version at
http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/o.../calcplus.mspx
It has conversion capability to convert to and from allot of things
I've never herd of.

Try reinstalling it. From Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs |
Add/Remove Windows Components (on the left side) | Accessories and
Utilities | Accessories | Calculator.
