- Can a computer switch back and forth between a workgroup and a dom
- Posted by Ken Roberts on October 6th, 2005
I have a laptop that I use at home in a small network that uses a workgroup.
I am thinking about taking the kaptop to work, but there I would have to join
a domain. If I do that I'm not sure it will still work on my home network
(which will still have a workgroup). Does anyone know for sure?

Not natively possible to switch back and forth, and not necessary.
If you need to join the domain, do it - then on your home network, you can
just pass the credentials along when trying to map drives, etc.
www.netswitcher.com is a third party option. I tend to avoid it.
Personally, if this is your own laptop, I wouldn't put it on your company's
domain. That's just me.
