Can IExplorer load an index page instead of a files window?
Posted by Starrider on November 24th, 2005

I like to build my website in my desktop PC and I test the pages in Mozilla
and Microsoft browsers.

Also, I like to link my index pages by indicating only the directory where
they are. For example, I link to "/resources" instead of
"/resources.index.html" which is fine when the page is accessed through a
server, but when I test the pages locally in my PC, Mozilla browsers load a
file list for the directory and Microsoft browsers "switch" from IExplorer to
(Normal?) Explorer and load a files window.

Is there anything I can do to make the browsers load the index pages instead?

if you are using IIS you must configure the default document, "My
Computer" --> "Manage" --> IIS and search for default document.

or if you call your index of "index.htm" this default document is
already configured by default..
