- Can only see domain it's a member of?
- Posted by Scott McDonald on March 15th, 2006
we have approximately 75 win xp pro workstations on a win 2003 domain and a
mixed environment of mac and linux machines on the same physical network but
some (most) are not members of the win 2003 domain. On a workstation here
that we need to connect to a mac share across that network it cannot see
"workgroup" in network places, it only sees the domain it is on. It can ping
the mac, but otherwise as far as it's concerned the mac doesn't exist
(\\mac\share in run returns "mac not found on network, but again it can ping
it by name).
Any ideas why this would be happening?
Thanks!
Scott
