Can someone tell me why WindowsXP cannot see itself?
Posted by JohnnyB on December 30th, 2005

Hello,

Yesterday Windows started rebooting...
Tried safe mode.. no good.. still reboots.
Tried to boot off cd and run chkdsk /p
Chkdsk found errors corrected, but
still reboots.. ok try to do a repair install, but
for some reason it wants to install a fresh copy
and delete my exsisting windows folder. Huh??
I reboot back to command prompt. My Windows
folder is there, System32\config with all hives are
there, ntuser.dat is in my documents and settings
so what gives? What else is it looking for? It will
take me days to restore all my software.

Thanks for any info
