- can viruses be attached to .wav files?

Can viruses or other malware be attached to .wav files and if so what
software will check for the viruses before I save the files. I think I was
infected by a .wav file and I want to avoid the problem in the future.

not attached - or even embedded
Whatever player you're using will try to play them - that's all

Yes. A virus can be "included" in ANY type of file. And Yes, often
standard file types are renamed to deliver viruses. In other words, you
may NOT be actually downloading a .wav file.

Hey. Dont knock Christians. They have a good system. One can sin, go to
confession, and be forgiven.
Oddly, my Mom used to take us to church for confession, and us kids
would get out of the confessional in a few minutes and go and say our
ten Our Fathers and our ten Hail Mary's. But my Mom spent lots of time
in there.
She was a Saint tho....

..exe (Lots of spaces between wav and dot exe) and all you will see is
music.wav unless you scroll over.

or the other favorite trick ...
"xyz.wav
..exe"
one file name -- lots of spaces between what LOOKS
like the file name and the ".exe" -- I ran into that one
a year or so ago.

Agreed, yes, but an actual wav file will not be able to deliver a virus.
