- Cannot see firewall in control panel
- Posted by W E B G U R L on March 6th, 2006
I am not receiving certain emails and so I thought I may have a problem with the built in
firewall except when I go to the control panel, there is no link to the firewall, nor any
reference to it.
When I complete an online form on my website and using my own email address, I do not
receive the email in Outlook but can see via webmail. I do not have any filters that would
be blocking and spam filtering has been turned off.
I know this is tricky but I have no idea where I should be looking to fix this major
problem as I operate many websites with online forms!
Any help appreciated.

Are you sure you have service pack 2, which is where the firewall was first
introduced? Right click My Computer, then Properties. If you don't see SP2
mentioned under "system", you don't have it.

It is security center section in Category View or Windows Firewall in
Classic view.

microsoft.public.windowsxp.general:
Can you receive any other email besides the one from that form in your email
box? If the email is getting to your inbox at your ISP and you can access
it with a webmail setup, then your mail client should be able to pick it up
if your POP3 settings are working correctly.
