can't change background

i can't change my background image, its stuck on solid color and when i
try to change it everything is greyed out and i can't do anything about
it, i don't know much about computers so can anyone help me and explain
what to do in an easy way

I'm assuming that your computer is virus/malware free. If it isn't (or
wasn't), then post back and let me know. Otherwise, go to the Display
applet in Control Panel and look on the Desktop tab. Click on Customize
Desktop, and then click on the Web tab. You will see that there are
checkmarks next to "My Current Home Page" and probably "Lock Desktop
Items". Uncheck these. Click Apply and OK out when you've made your
changes.

Line 142 on the right.

I would definitely back up your registry before using this. If you don't
feel comfortable with the registry then probably wouldn't do it.
