- can't delete a file
- Posted by lenny on October 21st, 2005
Hi,
I have a Word document on my laptop that I am unable to open, change it's
name or delete. I also have another document on a USB drive with the same
name (a replacement for the original file). I am unable to copy this file to
my laptop. It will not paste to anywhere on the laptop. Why?
I am able to open and change the file as I wish on any other computer or
laptop that I have access too. So does anybody know what the problem could
be in this case. Or, how can I delete the original file on the laptop?
When ever I try to change the file in any way either Explorer or Word
crashes and I usually need to reboot the laptop by pressing and holding the
power button.
I have XP Home (SP2) I am using Microsoft Office Word 2003.
I am really stuck now as nobody in the Word newsgroups seem to have any
answers that work.
Please help.
Lenny
