I am experiencing the exact same problem on two different systems. In
addition Right-Clicking on a file and using the "Save Target As" fails in the
same way. The icon of the downloaded file does appear briefly, then
disappears.
Both systems are using XP Professional. All critical updates applied.
On one system I have installed/re-installed both IE 7 Beta 2 Preview and
Windows Defender Beta. I am not sure when the problem started occuring.
On a second system, I noticed the problem occured directly after
uninstalling Symantec Anti-Virus 2005. This sytems does not have IE7
installed.
Possibly an uninstall Issue?
I am now without a system where downloading will function properly.
AntiVirus, Spyware, Ad-ware scans do not find anything. IE Cache has been
cleared. Sufficient HD space is available.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
