Can't install XP Profesional on Toshiba S1900-102
Posted by mar_male@wp.pl on October 4th, 2005

I have a laptop Toshiba S1900-102 and I want to install new system and
format partition. I change proporties in BIOS for booting from a CDRom,

CD with XP is bootable. My laptop doesn't boot CDs he by-passes CD and
starts from hardware. If there are any options beyond seting in BIOS
sequencing bootable?? I also select booting only from CDROM and it
doesn't start. (I don't have original CDRom.Is this a problem??)
Thank you for answer.

Please clarify a few things:

- Consult the manual that came with your laptop. What does it say
about booting from a CD?
- Does your WinXP CD have a folder called "i386"?
- Does your laptop have a floppy disk drive? Can you boot from it?

make sure that you save the changes you make to the Bios on exit, or
else it will keep going back to boot from the HDD. F10

I save changes, I have good CD with XP Prof. But I don't have a floppy.

Unless you can boot your laptop with a CD or with a floppy
disk, you're stuck. You have two options left:

a) Consult the manual about restoring the machine back
to factory condition.
b) Take it to a Toshiba dealer for assistance.
