Can't log in...Please help!

I cannot log into windows - the computer starts up fine but stops at the
light blue screen with the Windows XP logo in the center, like it doesn't
know the next step. No error messages or anything, and I haven't had problems
prior to this. Very frustrating.

hi,

you can try booting into safe mode first...whatever the results will be, we
can take it from there...

hope this helps as a starting point.

regards!

Reboot. As the BIOS screen disappears repeatedly tap the F8 key to get
the advanced options menu. Try some of those options starting with Last
Known good configuration. Do any of those work?

What changes did you make right before this happened - software updates,
added hardware, windows update etc.

What kind of computer is it and the configuration - memory, hard drives
etc, operating system and SP level?

What is the malware status? Do you regularly scan with a combination of
AV and anti malware programs that are current with up to date definitions?
