- closing subfolder after closing parental folder causes crash
- Posted by Jim on March 28th, 2006
I've been periodically bothered by drwatson and nonfunctioning windows
xp sp2. Could never pinpoint what actions caused this until now. I even
reformatted and reinstalled XP and all updates.
Trigger:
Open any folder on desktop. Example - my documents
Then open and subfolder. Example - my music
Close My documents.
Then close my music.
I then get hour glass for several seconds. Mouse cursor will move, but
will not highlight anything on desktop including Start button.
Must kill Drwatson before mouse and desktop are usable again. I've then
lost Soundblaster icon in tray.
I can use any folder or folder with a shortcut on the desktop and one
that has a subfolder to cause the problem.
Help.
Jim
