Computer USer's full name
Posted by Saga on March 8th, 2006

Hi all,

I usually use a pseudonym for stuff I do; however, somehow this
pseudonym has gotten into some Windows setting. Now everytime I open
Word, Outlook or other applications that show the initial splash screen,
I see that pseudonym right above the company name. I would like to
change that to something else.

I was not able to locate where I can do this and a search through the
registry did not yield any results.

Does anyone know how I can change this?

Thanks
Saga

Thanks for the info. I checked the registry entry and see that this
still
has the right name. Since I have only noticed this with Office apps, I
am beginning to think that this might be a configuration related to
these
applications specifically.

Best wishes

Thanks for the reply. I was convinced that this setting was system wide;
however, after following the instructions on the link that you provided
(I
have Office XP) the splash screen now shows the correct name. Perhaps
this setting pertained only to the Office suite. In any case, I will
keep
my eyes open for any more occurrences of my pseudonym.

Best wishes
