- Connecting to printers

Getting the following message when attempting to mao certain network
printers...
"A policy is in effect on your computer which prevents you from connecting
to this print queue. Please contact your system administrator."
1. We have no such policy
2. I did a TechNet search and 2 articles came up which refer to Windows XP
SP1 thereby implying that this is not a problem in SP2...which we are running.
3. Only occuring on some printers...can't find a common thread though...
Anyone got any insight?

PCs must be part of the same network and subnet mask (or VPn router access
enabled.)
Windows XP SP2 firewall need to be "disabled" or "exception" for the
"file/printer sharing", "Peer to peer networking"
If the printer is "shared" off another PC, the user account/password should
exist on the PC that controls the printer.

I have a printer(canon multipass c555) that was connected to my computer and
does show up in the control panel under printers ( WITH A CHECK MARK AND THE
WORD READY BESIDE IT). However when i attempt to print something there are 2
messages that appear: 1)you must install a printer first and 2) the printer
spool service is not connected. Is there some one that can HELP ME?

Next time read the docs, and install accordingly.
