Connection status
Posted by Dapper Dan on December 26th, 2005

New Windows XP Home connected to broadband cable Internet. Often I simple
put the computer on STANDBY mode, after activating BLOCK TRAFFIC on
Firewall. When re-activating after changing setting on Firewall to ALLOW
TRAFFIC, I often, but not always, get a CONNECTION STATUS message advising
"Limited or no connectivity. The problem occurred because the network did
not assign a network address to the computer". I'll click REPAIR and sure
enough I can then access the Internet. However It will happen again at some
later point. What adjustment is required to prevent this from happening?
Thanks
