ctrl alt delete
Posted by Judy L on November 23rd, 2005

when I click on ctrol alt delete, I dont get the screen which has one or two
options, I dont get any options at all (up the top) - only task or status
(not folders) - in fact it even included ctrl alt delete as running in the
list. down the bottom, I get "end task", "switch to" and "new task", none
of which will let me close the screen. so the screen stays in front of
everything else all the time.

any ideas please? I cant type capital letters either, as I get a screen
instead. I dont know if this is associated or not. when I type a capital
letter I get a small screen up the top which says select all, or something
similar

Hi

Try double clicking on the edge of the Task Manager.

thanks will - it worked - Im sooo happy - but what about the capital letters
.......

I can't type some capital letters either, as I get a small screen instead.
when I type a capital letter I get a small screen up the top which says
"select all", or something similar. the screens are as tho I am right
clicking something when all I am doing is hitting the shift key and the
letter I want capitilised.

Hi Judy

Which program(s) are you having the capital letters problem with?

Hi Judy

Could be a faulty keyboard. Have you tried a different keyboard on your
computer and your keyboard on a different computer to see if you get the
same fault(s)?

Will - I flicked the cap off the Shift key as I noticed it appeared only to
be the left side that was playing up - there was a tiny piece of cellophane
paper in there and a few crumbs, cleaned it all up and now its working fine.
Sorry I caused you the bother, but thanks again for all your help.

Always hated crumby keyboards!

Ah - they're a lot of crumby keyboards about!! Hot coffee isn't too good
for a keyboard either.!! I don't normally like advocating taking the
keyboard to bits to mend it :-)) However it does work sometimes.
