I have a new Gateway notebook running XP Home Edition .

When I, say, select an address with the mouse and proceed to type
at some point the typing will jump to where the mouse pointer is sitting
elsewhere on the screen.

A friend suggested that there was a setting to make cursor stay with
the typing but I cannot find such a setting.

Any Ideas? Thanks in advance.

your hand is probably bumping the touchpad
