hi i can down load sp2 ok no problem,it starts to install then it gets to a
point where it says unable to install can not readto and from data base then
it all stops i have all over microsoft but can not get an answer please can
you help.

Boot to Safe Mode and try the Service Pack install in that mode. Be
sure to have your personal data backed up. Any issues like you have
may be an indication of more serious issues than failing upgrades.

Make sure to turn off any anti-virus during installation.

Hi,

I would think you need to delete/rename the .log files in
the folder %windir%\Security\ (and maybe %windir%\System32\CatRoot2\).

(%windir% is typically C:\Windows or C:\Winnt)

I have created a batch file that does this for you (and some more
that is ok to run anyway).
