Dead Motherboard?
Posted by gandalftheking on May 4th, 2006

hello all

my asus p4c 800e-deluxe may have died. i switched off my pc normally last
night, and this morning there is no green light on the mobo when i switch on,
and no activity/sounds whatsoever. ive listened closely to the power supply
and there is a faint sound of electricity passing through, so im assuming its
not that.

thanks

connectors from your PSU to the MOBO are ok? Test the PCs power lead with
something else (monitor eg)?

Open the case and see if there is a green light on the motherboard. You
might have to borrow another power supply to test the system. Failing that
you might have to take it to a competent technician.

What sound does electricity make when it "passes through"???

Is the P/S fan blowing air??

cheap and easy troubleshooting step. If that doesn't solve the issue,
your motherboard is dead.
