- Default environment variables
- Posted by David on October 21st, 2005
Does anyone know what the default environment variables should be XP pro.
Mainly interested in tmp, temp, and path. I have a machine which I suspect
had something here modified. The registry just has a copy of the current
variables, not the ones it may of had when first installed. I also suspect
some installed software also tampers with these.

Also known as:
C:\Documents and Settings\{USERNAME}\Local Settings\Temp
But the path is best set as:
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp

Thanks a lot. Mine was set to something else and fixing that fixes my fax
problem. See black hole thread in that group.
