- Definitions of created, modified and date created in file properti

I am trying to use the various dates in file porperties to determine a number
of things;
1 the Actual date that the file was created - its inception date
2 the date that a file may have been copied to another location
i am slightly confused to say the least!! Does anyone know where i can find
definitive descriptions etc
