Is there any difference in the way win98 and hoe edition xp defragment a
fat32 filesystem? I defragged my fat32 with xp and then installed win98.
There were long delays in booting especially from DOS mode into win98. I
finally repartitioned and formatted.

Maybe. But can you give me a more detailed reason? Something ruined my
filesystem. And I can understand changing from XP to win98se.
