What do you mean "heavy images"? Please see these links for help in
crafting a good newsgroup post:

http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm
http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html

Then do come back and repost with all necessary details. There are lots
of people reading this newsgroup who want to help you (like me), but
you have to give us something with which to work.

In the meantime, try deleting the images in Safe Mode. If you have
thousands of them, don't try to delete them all at once.

I'm sorry, but I don't provide free email support and the Reply To email
address I use on Usenet is false. Asked here, answered here. I'm happy
to help you here in the newsgroup, as are many other people. You just
have to give us something to go on. Directing you to sites that would
help you make a good newsgroup post was not meant to hurt your
feelings; it was meant to help you maximize your chances of getting
good, accurate answers.

I don't suppose you received a message that said "impossible to
delete". What is the actual message you get?

the message is saying that i should close all applications which might be
using them,

Go into Safe Mode by repeatedly tapping the F8 key as the computer is
starting up. This will get you to the right menu. Use your arrow keys
to navigate to "Safe Mode" and press the Enter key to choose. Log in
with an account that has administrative privileges and now try to
delete the files, one at a time.

Now we're getting somewhere, but what was the exact error message,
please? I don't know of any delete-related message that uses the word
"impossible". (That's not to say one doesn't exist.)

Could it possibly have been a message that the files were too big for
the Recycle Bin? If that's the case, read the message carefully and
you'll see there's a button you can click that removes them anyway.
It works fine, you just don't have the option to get them back from
the Recycle Bin.

If that's not what happened, then please post the EXACT error
message. What might seem like a trivial variation to you can often
make all the difference to being able to diagnose a problem.

Already done above, Stan, more or less :-)

"the message is saying that i should close all applications which might
be using them"
