- Delete registry keys
- Posted by Quincey on January 9th, 2006
I'm trying to delete a registry string/key from the following location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Controlset003\Enum\Root\ LEGACY_DWMRCS\0000. I
receive “Error deleting values, unable to delete all specified values”. I'm
trying to remove Dameware and I also had this problem when trying to remove
Network Associates to install Trendmicro.

Quincey,
LEGACY keys cannot be deleted. I guess you can try disabling 'Windows File
Protection' and then try deleting but save your registry prior to deleting
and re-enable 'Windows File Protection' when done.
How to Disable 'Windows File Protection' in WinXP:
ps-see the additional steps for WinXP SP2

Right click the folder you are trying to delete and select permissions and
check full control then you will be able to delete it.
