an anyone tall me how to get my icons back on desktop?
Nothing happens if I right click on desktop.
I have no start button.
PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

Hi WMT3524,
What happens? Does XP come to an empty desktop when you boot into it
and log in? Have you tried booting into safe mode by pressing the F8
key before the Windows XP splash screen comes up when booting? I'm
afraid I can't help you without more information about your problem, so

it comes up to my desktop with my background pic but no icons no start buttom.
I have not tried f8 but will and let you know.

Ok used the f8 safe mode and it loads to a black screen but no start button
or icons

Have you tried logging in with any other profiles to see if it does the
same thing?

Thanks to all I tried all options and finally got it to work it was this one
that did it.
