evry time I restart my computer or put a cd in it the icons change order on
my desktop. I have them custom set, but it continues to convert back to auto
arrange. why is it doing this and how can I prevent it. I have to rearrange
them all the time. Thanks

Right click the task bar and click "auto arrange" to remove the check mark,
Then click "align to grid" and "show desktop items"

Once you follow the other directions go to Kelly's site:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Line 188: Add Save & Restore Desktop Layout to Menu
This edit will add two entries to the menu when right clicking on a
blank area of the desktop: Save Desktop Icon Layout and Restore Desktop
Icon Layout.
See the top of the page for info on running the edit.
