Ad-Aware SE Personal detected 2 Spyware strings in the registry of my
computer (XP-SP2). After much testing, I discovered the "Spyware" only shows
up when the Desktop icons are switched from "show" to "hide". As long as the
Desktop icons are kept showing after the "Spyware" has been deleted, nothing
is detected. Here is what Ad-Aware reports:

Can someone please tell me if the Registry keys reported by Ad-Aware are
what are supposed to be there or not? If so, then Ad-Aware is making a false
report and there is nothing critical. If not, what should the named Registry
keys show. Perhaps with that information I can locate and correct the problem.

The spyware scanners warn about lots of policy settings (things that
can be disabled from Policy editor, from X-setup, TweakUI etc etc)

I get these warning bacuse I have disabled the desktop, because I have
locked the IE homepage (one should think locking that would give
HIGHER security, but it is reported as a security threat :-) and so on

If you are sure this is something you have chosen yourself, ignore it.

O.K. But I'd still like to know if the Registry strings Ad-Aware identifies
are correct or not.

I have contacted Ad-Aware to see if they can offer any insight to the
situation.
