i am running xp pro fully updated.here is my problem.in 'device manager'there
is a yellow question mark against 'others' 'sm bus controler'.properties
reveals driver not installed(code 28).a previous post says to install latest
intel chipset driver. my question is,my processor is not intel.it is amd.does
this fix still apply.if not,any further suggestions would be helpful.system
does not seem affected by this error

That was probly an Andrew E post
You need the chipset drivers for your mobo, obtainable from mobo web site or
PC sys web site
They could be intel or amd, depends entirely on your mobo

the motherboard is a Gigabyte but i am not sure of the specs.Sisoft sandra
says it is nVidia Force 2

You need to know model # of mobo, I thought Sisoft Sandra gave that info, if
not

Should give that info, then go to Gigabyte web site, for your specific mobo
and download the drivers.
