- Dial-out Dialog?
- Posted by W. Watson on February 6th, 2008
I'm installing some s/w on a neighbors XP machine, and he doesn't have it
configured for dial-out. I recall there's some dial-out dialog for that, but
I don't see it under Control Panel. I just want to put an icon his desktop
that he can fire up to dial-out.

To dial-out he must have an internal modem installed, does he have one?
Does he have any ISPs installed such as AOL, Netscape, Juno, Earthlink, etc.?
Has he ever gone on-line with this PC? With the lack of info you provided,
assistance is very limited.

Figured it out. Go to Control Panel. Select Network Connections icon. Create
New connection, then follow the yellow brick road that points to dial-up by
phone. The result is the dial-out connection dialog is the end product. Make
a shortcut and put it on the desktop.

Glad you got it.
With Windows...if you poke around enough...
what you are looking for usually shows up somewhere
