- Direct Cable Network Help
- Posted by Grey on January 29th, 2006
With XP Pro SP1, I have a PC and a laptop. I want a simple cable network
between the two, so I can send stuff from one to the other. I have a
Ethernet crossover cable between the two and I have (tried) to run the
Network wizard. Nothing seems to have happened - or changed, especially on
My Computer apart from the creation of a shared folder.
Suppose I create a partition on my PC called T: to share between the two and
I have two partitions on E: and F: on my laptop I want to share with my PC,
how do I do this? My PC also has internet connection.

Firstly DO NOT go around creating partitions on any system, you are in
grave danger of loseing EVERYTHING!!!!!!!
How is the PC connected to the Internet - USB or Ethernet??
What is the PC's IP address & subnet mask??
