- Disable Automatic Updates
- Posted by Dave Cullen on November 14th, 2005
The automatic updates thingie in my systray is very annoying. I have
dialup internet and don't want this feature automated. Please tell me
how to make the systray icon go away, along with the "Computer might be
at risk" baloon.
Ideally, I'd like to put a Windows Update link in my Start menu, like
Win2K had, instead. If someone could tell me how, I'd appreciate that
too.
Thanks

if you go into control panel and automatic updates you can set it up so it
doesnt automatically update and this way you can use the windows update link
which is in the root of the programs folder on the start menu.
