- Disabled right click suddenly - I want it back

A couple of days ago, I noticed that right clicking the taskbar no
longer worked. I had used it to kill some programs which loaded in
Start.
I don't know what might have caused this disabling. I did let Microsoft
install updates to Windows XP Home Edition but it was all supposed to
be for security.
How do I get it back? I often right-click to save pictures and
end/launch programs. I miss that capability.

Follow these steps:
1. Open Start, Run, type without quotes 'regedit' and press OK.
2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer.
3. Delete the 'NoTrayContextMenu' value (if it exists) placed on the right pane.
4. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\Explorer and delete the value mentioned in step 3 (if it exists).
5. Exit Registry Editor and verify if the problem has gone.

I got to the HKEY pretty easily but the only things that showed up
were:
ab (Default) REG_SZ (Value not set)
" icon" NoDriveTypeAutoRun REG_DWORD 0x00000091 (145)
Can I safely remove one or both of these?
