Disappearing Folders
Posted by David Theobald on October 19th, 2005

Just been to get photograph from the 'My Pictures' folder in 'My Documents -
and it ain't there. The whole folder with numerous sub folders has vanished.
I also noticed the 'My Photos' folder (which was empty) has also
disappeared. If I go to Adobe Photoalbum the thumbnails of the missing pics
(hundreds of them) are still there but they say the file is missing and flag
it as a missing link. I've 'System Restored' to a couple of weeks back -
nix. I've just run CHKDSK from the 'Tools' tab on right clicking the C
Drive in 'My Computer' and it reports no problem - I checked the 'repair any
faults' box. Fresh out of ideas
What is going on? I know I haven't deleted anything - let alone several
hundred files.
Any help much appreciated

Perhaps some joker has given the folder a Hidden attribute.

To find out if that is the case, open Folder Options in the Control Panel
and under the View tab scroll down to the setting that makes hidden folders
and files visible.
